NCIA Executive Director Judi Gaiashkibos and Administrative Assistant Scott Shafer visited Hastings College Friday. gaishkibos spoke to about 150 students and faculty about Ponca Chief Standing Bear as well as about contemporary Indigenous issues in Nebraska. In the afternoon gaiashkibos presented to a history class at the college that will be working on a project to design a “follow the trail” map and brochure for use by those wishing to follow the Ponca relocation trail across the state.
