Marshall County and Nebraska trails groups met in Barneston Sunday to discuss progress on development of the rail trails recently completed on both sides of the state line.
The Blue River Rail Trail that runs 11.5 miles from Marysville to the state line was completed this fall. The Chief Standing Bear Trail that runs 19.5 miles from south of Beatrice to the state line also was finished recently by the Nebraska group.
That was reason to celebrate, and members of Marshall County Connection and the Nebraska Trails Foundation, the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska and the Homestead Conservation and Trail Association gathered for lunch.
